983. Fragmentary Christian votive text

- Chest-shaped tomb consisting of three blocks of stuccoed sandstone (together, w: 1.96 x h: 0.48).

- Lightly inscribed on the stuccoed upper surface, which is now much damaged.
- Letters:
- Irregular Greek lettering, capitals mixed with cursive forms: 0.115-0.205.

- Lepcis Magna: Church III; Probably from the cemetery adjoining the church, at the head of the Colonnaded Street. For this church see commentary on 982.

- Now standing on the top of a wall between the cemetery and the street which divides Reg. IV from Reg. II. When the blocks were moved to their present position the third was evidently reversed; as it stands at present it does not fit nearly onto the second, but with its position reversed it would do so.
